Many measures purport that employee satisfaction is a factor in employee motivation, employee goal achievement, and positive employee morale in the workplace. The backbone of employee satisfaction is the respect for workers and the job they perform. In every interaction with management, employees should be treated with courtesy and interest. Employee satisfaction is a pleasurable or positive emotional reaction to a person’s job experiences. An employee is said to be satisfied, on the basis of his judgment on how well his job is on the whole satisfying his various needs. Job satisfaction depends upon the performance of work and emotional aspects of individual’s experiences towards the job. If an individual is not satisfied with the working conditions, office atmosphere, having no cordial relation with fellow employees as well as with the management, lack of promotional avenues etc., there can never be satisfaction of employees in that organization. The pay levels, opportunities for advancements, working conditions, recognition and rewards, autonomy and responsibility and personal goal satisfaction can have influence on the attitudes of the individuals. If the organization can fulfil these things, the employees will be satisfied i.e. discrepancies will be less or the employees are getting what they have expected. The project entitled “Job satisfaction of employees: A study on Heritage Foods Limited at Kasipentla, Dairy plant” was carried out with the objective of assessing the level of job satisfaction of employees. Job satisfaction of employees in the study was analysed with respect to eleven parameters selected based on Herzberg s motivation theory. The study was mainly based 78 on Primary data collected through pre - structured interview schedule from a sample of 190 respondents which consisted of employees from different sections. For the purpose of analysis, satisfaction index was used.
