Abstract: A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of supporting conservation practices on run off and soil loss under tapioca planted in hill slopes. The run off and soil loss were measured under 18 different erosive rainfalls which recorded 12.5 mm or more. Maximum run off and soil losses were observed in uncultivated bare fallow plot which was significantly higher over all the other treatments. Among the cultivation techniques, groundnut intercropping as well as planting of tapioca in ridges across the slope were effective in reducing soil and water losses in tapioca.
