| Abstract: | A field experiment conducted to study the effect of split dose and times of N application on N uptake and utilisation efficiency showed ' that the skipping basal application of N and applying half at active tillering and the other luiif at panicle initiation stages gave maximum grain yield for direct sown rice in puddled soil. This was made possible by a higher total N uptake and a higher incremental N uptake contributting to grain yield. |
