Item Combined effect of potassium and organic manures on nutrient availability, yield and K uptake by rice(Kerala Agricultural University, 1995) Bagavathi Ammal, U; Durairaj Muthiah, NItem Dissolution of low grade udaipur rock phosphate in a red noncalcareous soil (Typic Haplustalf)(Kerala Agricultural University, 2000) Bagavathi Ammal, U; Mathan, K K; Mahimairaja, SThe dissolution of low grade Udaipur rock phosphate (URP) in red non-calcareous soil (Typic Haplustalf) was examined through a closed incubation experiment. The rock phosphate (60 and 100 mesh size) at a rate equivalent to 0, 1000, 5000 and 10000 mg P,O5 kg'1 soil was mixed with soil (lOOg) and incubated for 120 days in plastic cups both in the presence and absence of Phosphobacteria. The dissolution was measured through a sequential P fractionation procedure. The per cent dissolution was calculated based on increase in the NaOH extractable P (inorganic plus organic P) as well as decrease in HC1-P (apatite or acid soluble P). Application of Phosphobacteria along with RP resulted in higher dissolution in 60 and 100 mesh size of RP.Item Effect of different levels of rock phosphate sulphur granule on growth and yield of onion and black gram(Kerala Agricultural University, 2000) Bagavathi Ammal, U; Mathan, K K; Mahimairaja, SPot experiments conducted to study the effect of rock phosphate - elemental sulphur granule (RP-S° G) on the yield attributes and yield of onion and black gram in Typic Haplustalf so\\ revealed that the application of RP-S° G at the rate of 60 kg P2O~ ha"' recorded the highest yield for both the crops. Better residual effects were reflected in black gram yield and uptake of nutrients. RP-S° G @ 75 kg P2O5 ha"1 also performed well, but its effect was on par with that of 75 kg P20s ha'1.
