Czapeck's and Richards' agar media were lesssuitable. In all these media, only microconidia were produced. Maximum number of spores were produced on the fifth day, after which the spore production decreased. Virulence was highest in spores of four and five-day-old cultures and spores of cultures more than five day old showed decreasing virulence.Item Mass culturing of Fusarium Oxysporum Schlect, an entomogeous fungus of brown plant hopper Nilaparvata Lugens stal(Kerala Agricultural University, 1981) Suma Kuruvilla; Abraham JacobStudies were conducted to evolve suitable techniques of mass culture of Fusarium oxysporum Schlect infecting the rice brown plant hopper. The results showed that green gram, wheat or sorghum could be used as substrates for eosy mass production of the fungus as they produced maximum spores with high virulence.
