The Festival is jointly organized by College of Horticulture (COH) and KAUCL in collaboration with College of Forestry (COF), College of Co-op., Banking & Management (CCBM), Academy of Climate Change Education and Research (ACCER), College of Agriculture (COA), Vellayani, College of Agriculture (COA), Padannakkad, Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (KCAET), Tavanur, Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT), Pattambi and KAU School.

    National Book Festival - 2018

    Books and Paintings are the best media to transmit Information and Knowledge to human beings, Santhosh Echikkaanam, famous story writer and film expert, opined while inaugurating Kerala Agricultural University’s Tree Day National Book Festival here in University Central Library at Thrissur. Book festivals and Painting Exhibitions help to bring people the depth of knowledge and also cause their mental transformation. Books help to share the good and bad events that happened in life and even to overcome death. The role of libraries and book festivals to bring authors and books to readers is very large. This will also enable a situation for social transformation, he added. Dr. A. Anilkumar, Dean, College of Agriculture, Vellayani and Member, KAU General Council (GC) presided.C.R. Das, Story writer delivered Key Note Address. Good books and strong reading habit are essential for cultural refinement, he opined.P.S. Vinayan, President, Madakkathra Grama Panchayath released Library Brochure. Abdul Razak, former University Librarian received the brochure. Dr. A. Pradeepkumar, Director, Planning and Member KAUGC, inaugurated the Painting Exhibition organized in collaboration with the Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy. Artist K.R. Kumaran, the Award Winner of the Central Lalitha Kala Academy honoured by Dr. A. Sakeer Hussain, Member KAUGC.Santhosh Echikkaanam distributed prizes to the students and teachers who have been selected as Best Library Users of various teaching institutions under KAU. The prizes were sponsored by Adv. K. Rajan, MLA and Member, KAU Executive Committee . Boopendra Dutt, ICAR representative, New Delhi, Dr. A. T. Francis, University Librarian, Dr. George Thomas, Associate Dean, College of Horticulture, KAUGC members Dr. B.Suma, K.D. Babu, P.K. Sreekumar, and Dr. K.K. Sathian; Dr. M.C. Narayanankutty, Headmistress T.J. Maggie, Students’ Unions Office Bearers of various school/colleges of KAU C.S. Sreelakshmi, M. Muhammed Anees, J. Hima and Raveen Festival Coordinator K.V. Alphonsa spoke. Hundreds of students, teachers and other staff from colleges, schools and universities and farmers and public visited the book festival.
