K.P. Sathian, Writer and poet inaugurated the programmes in a function presided by Dr. A.T. Francis, University Librarian, KAU. Dr. E.V. Anoop, President, “Symphony”, the cultural and literary club of KAU delivered Key Note address. Everybody took the Reading Day Oath led by M.A. Sudheesh Kumar. Dr. V.S. Swapna, Treasurer, Academic Library Association, V.P. Ajithakumari, Kum: Daya Dileep and Master: Adwaid Anikumar spoke. Kum: Namitha Shibu and Kum: Drisya recited poems. Discussions, book exhibition etc. were also held. The meeting honoured Dr. V.S. Swpana, Librarian in the College of Horticulture of KAU, who have been awarded PhD in the subject “Library Web Technology” Students and teachers from schools and colleges, farmers and public participated. As decided by UNESCO, the day is being celebrated from 1995 onwards in connection with the death anniversary of William Shakespeare, Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, as well as that of the birth or death of several other prominent authors.Item Eugene Garfield Remembered in Kerala Agricultural University(Central Library, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, 2017-02-26) KAU Central Libraryയൂജിന് ഗാര്ഫീല്ഡ് അനുസ്മരണം കേരള കാര്ഷിക സര്വ്വകലാശാലയില് നടത്തി സൈറ്റേഷൻ സൂചികയുടെയും ശാസ്ത്ര സൈറ്റേഷൻ പഠന ശാഖയുടെയും ഉപജ്നാതാവായ യൂജിന് ഗാര്ഫീല്ഡ് അനുസ്മരണം കേരള കാര്ഷിക സര്വ്വകലാശാലയില്നടത്തി. ഫെബ്രുവരി 26 നു അന്തരിച്ച അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നിര്യാണത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് നടത്തിയ അനുസ്മരണ പ്രഭാഷണം ശാസ്ത്ര ഗ്രന്ഥകാരനും ഹോര്ട്ടികള്ച്ചര്കോളേജ് ഡീനുമായ ഡോ. സി. ജോര്ജ്ജ് തോമസ് നടത്തി. ഗവേഷണ മേന്മയുടെയും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളുടെയും അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്സ്ഥപനങ്ങളെയും ഗവേഷകരെയും വിലയിരുത്തുന്ന ആധുനിക ശാസ്ത്രം രൂപപ്പെടുന്നതില് യൂജിന് ഗാര്ഫീല്ഡ് വഹിച്ച പങ്ക് വളരെ വലുതാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അഭിപ്രായപെട്ടു. സര്വ്വകലാശാല ലൈബ്രറി വിഭാഗം മേധാവി ഡോ. എ. ടി. ഫ്രാന്സിസ് അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. നോബല്സമ്മാനത്തിനുള്ള വിലയിരുത്തലുകള്പോലും ഇന്ന് ഈ ശാസ്ത്ര ശാഖയെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് നടന്നു വരുന്നു; ഇന്ത്യയിലെ യു. ജി. സി. അടക്കമുള്ള എല്ലാ ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ - ഗവേഷണ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളും റാങ്കിങ്ങിനു ഈ രീതി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്, അദ്ദേഹം അനുസ്മരിച്ചു. കെ. പി. സത്യന്, ഡോ. എന്. ബി. നിഷ, ഡോ. വി. എസ്. സ്വപന, വി. പി. അജിതകുമാരി, എം. കെ. അജയകുമാര്, എം. സൂര്യ തുടങ്ങിയവര് പ്രസംഗിച്ചു. ഇതോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു ഡോ. ഗാര്ഫീല്ഡിന്റ പ്രസംഗങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഡോകുമെന്ററികളും മള്ട്ടീ-മീഡിയ രൂപത്തില് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.Item National Seminar on “HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN LIBRARIES" March - 2018(Central Library, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, 2018-03-17) KAU Central LibraryItem National Seminar on Empowering Agriculture Research using E-Resources with CeRA - 2018(Central Library, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, 2018-10-08) KAU Central LibraryNational Seminar on Empowering Agriculture Research using E-Resources with CeRA (Consortium for E-Resources in Agriculture) is organized in Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) Central Library, here in Vellanikkara, Thrissur on 08-10-2018.
