Studies on correlation in bhindi (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench)

Abstract

An attempt has been made to study the relationship between yield and several of the component characters as height of plant,number of leaves, number of branches, thickness of stem, number of flowers, number of fruits, yield of fruits(in weight), length of fruti, birth of fruit, percentage of fruit set and meen weight of fruits in ten different varietiesof bhindi. The anaysis of varience has shown that the varieties do not differ significantly from one another for those characters except for number of branches and mean weight of friuts.
