A study has been made of the morphological, physiochemical and microbiological properties of four typical profiles from the Kari areas of Vaikom Taluk. The soils are black to dark grey in colour, and can be texturally classed as clays or clay-loams. There is an irregular distribution of the soil separates in the profile , suggesting their formation by deposition and sedimentation.en_US
